Toronto is gradually putting on her red & yellow jacket, with white cloud
and blue sky dancing up above. However, I was drifted away temporarily
from these scenes to land my very first footprint on the continent of Europe.
Finally! With so much excitement and anticipation, I was welcomed by the
enigmatic dawn of the Netherlands. The very early train ride to Rotterdam
was remarkable, with a sea of tender fog over the land, the Dutch icons of milk
cows, goats, wind mills flashed beyond the window of a romantic surrealist 'painting'.
Education filled up the days I spent dream walking among the city's canals,
streets and squares, I pinched my face to ask myself many times: is this real?
Stepping at a plaza in Brussels is an intensive experience, with the splendid artistry in
conveying its history and culture, yet I felt the whole city is united by its creamy and
rich chocolate. Not to mention I had a very good dish of pasta and a glass of beer
which had me drunk in the maze of this sleeping beauty; perhaps, love is better found
when you are not sober. Somehow Paris vanished in the wake of homelessness, with
regrets I was bound to the city of desires: Amsterdam. Strolled my way out of Amsterdam
Centraal, I thought I've arrived in Moscow. The flux of Tram Lines, people, bars, cafes
really have concretely carved out the sensitivity of a cosmopolitan, a city that have been
vividly depicted in the hands of so many masters. Yet is the best city I've been to in the
sense of urban planning, with treed canals, elegant bridges, stylish housing, nodes of plaza
and historical buildings, it's truly a perfect blend to nurture the flowers of art, literature & love. |
